1980s in music

1980s in music
After 1970s, Disco’s population was relative short-lived, and the happy songs that are the characteristics of the 1980s. There are so many different style of music are created at that time. At 1980s, there are many new waves entered the music market, like heavy metal, punk rock and hardcore punk, and hip pop. And at that time, American woman were enjoying some hard won equal right battles. Many woman at that time feel independent and bold. But woman still have the same goal that to prove that they can worked just as hard as men, about how women had personal goals that didn’t involve men, and they can be fine without man. And one of the most popular music at that time about woman’s right movement is Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”(a song written for the comedy film of the same name) just from this song’s name, we can see that woman can also like man work from 9 o’clock to 5 o’clock. From this song’s lyrics:
Workin' 9 to 5,
What a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by
It's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind
And they never give you credit
It's enough to drive you crazy
If you let it
9 to 5, for service and devotion
and from this song that we can see that she try to show us that woman is no can do as same amount jobs as man do. And woman also can worked as hard as man did. And not only from the song we can see the changed but also form how female singer wear to see the woman’s right moment bring what kind changed to them. One of the most famous singer Madonna Louise Ciccone, the way how she wear also show the different form the 60s and 70s.

In 60’s and 70’s, female singer dressed formal dress, but in 80s, she can dress more openly, this also women are getting more equal and more rights.
